Performance approach
My performances invite audiences into the imaginative world of each piece from the first sound — moonlight, moving water, distance or farewell.
Rather than separating music from explanation, I move between performance and short demonstrations, allowing cultural context to emerge at the moment it becomes audible. I reveal how touch, harmonics, sliding tones, resonance and silence shape these images, and how Jianzipu records the gestures behind the sound.
Understanding grows from direct experience.
Until an unfamiliar instrument begins to carry emotions and states of mind that feel recognisable across cultures.

A landscape of moonlight, distance and longing. The music holds stillness and separation within the same spacious image, allowing each sounded note to remain present through its fading resonance.
